OHUG Power Equipment Limited and Dulhunty Power (Aust) Pty Limited, the Australian operating subsidiary of Dulhunty Power Limited, an ASX Listed Company (DUL), have formed a distributor/supplier relationship in New Zealand & Australia, providing a complete range of overhead and underground power equipment to the electrical transmission and distribution industry.

OHUG is privately owned and operated in New Zealand, with headquarters in Pukekohe, South Auckland and Sales Offices in Wellington and in the South Island. The company was formed in 2007 to offer a range of high quality, low and medium voltage jointing and termination products to Australasian electricity utilities.

Dulhunty Power’s principal business is the manufacture and sale of electricity transmission and distribution products. With manufacturing plants in Australia, Thailand, Malaysia and China, the company supplies own branded products to power utilities and contractors throughout Australasia, the Asia Pacific region, UK, North America, Middle East, Russia and Europe. Dulhunty Power is best known for its vibration control solutions for overhead transmission lines. OHUG will offer a comprehensive range of Dulhunty Power products in New Zealand, including insulators, Helixon (helical wire) products and a full range of overhead distribution voltage hardware.

According to OHUG Managing Director, Steve Rigby, the two companies recognised synergies which could help them work together. “We chose Dulhunty Power as a partner because their equipment range complements our offering and because their commitment to quality and service matches our own business philosophy. Our relationship leverages the strengths of both OHUG and Dulhunty Power, so now we can offer a comprehensive, overhead and underground product suite to the New Zealand market. And importantly, by working together, we believe our results will be greater than the sum of our individual capabilities,” says Rigby.

Reflecting its market growth in New Zealand, OHUG has recently expanded its Warehouse, Logistics Centre and Administration Offices, as well as establishing new Regional Sales Offices in Wellington and in the South Island. The company has also appointed Sales Managers, Antony Yates (Northern) and Darren Hanson (Southern) who bring a wealth of transmission and distribution equipment sales experience to OHUG and who will help ensure its customer service is maintained at the highest level.

Commenting on the new partner agreement with OHUG, Dulhunty Power CEO, Jack Roughan said, “We are pleased to have entered into this agreement with OHUG. OHUG are a company going through aggressive growth, and are a dynamic company with a very good reputation amongst the New Zealand electricity companies. This is a very exciting opportunity to use the strengths of both Dulhunty Power and OHUG to provide a full range of products for the New Zealand market. “

“Partnering with OHUG will enable us to offer a more comprehensive range of products to distribution customers in New Zealand. We firmly believe that OHUG will expand the penetration of our products into the electrical distribution customers and importantly enable Dulhunty Power to maintain our expertise and focus on our transmission customers which will continue to be managed by Brian Mathiesen as Managing Director of Dulhunty Power (NZ).”
